Black Ships Ate the Sky by mykeamend Black Ships Ate the Sky by mykeamend
Painted at 16×20 at 400 DPI, which was down to a 1 pixel brush in most every spot of the work , and one of my first digital paintings in years.

The series “Airships and Tentacles” is a collection of strange-fiction steampunk inspired works done as engravings, paintings in oil and acrylic, pencils, colored pencils, inks, wood sculpture, kinetic sculpture (the 2-ton wind and solar-powered “Infernal Device”), automata, and other media – and in wanting to have one really intensive digital piece to finish the collection, I set to work on this.

I am also offering 11 of these as giclees on canvas (10 in the limited edition on my site: [link]

I wish I could show it in greater detail... the patterns on *everything* and patterns within patterns are one of the neater things about the piece.

I have a lot of zoom-in's and progress pics of the image here: [link]

Very very nice, thanks! Just love detailed pictures. And love making them myself. But yeah, its kind of annoying when details you have spent many hours on don't show properly, you don't really want to post in in its original size either.
